27 wooden blocks with blue, red, black or yellow sides. All blocks fit into a wooden container with fall-away sides. The lid contains a guiding pattern.

Objective:

A cube composed of 27 wooden blocks which fit together in a trinomial pattern, forming a concrete representation of the the algebraic formula (a + b + c)³. Each face that is "a²" is red, "b²" is blue, and "c²" is yellow and all other faces are black.

The factors of the equation are represented by the colour coded cubes and prisms. Younger children can explore the Trinomial Cube as a sensorial activity of visual discrimination of color and form. This can serve as an indirect preparation for algebra and mathematics.
